2008

We are excited to announce many of our upcoming 2008 extended and day trips. Detailed flyers re­garding each trip are available on the carousel outside the main office at the Colonial Club. The Big Easy—New Orleans: February 23—29

Come along with us to the heart of the French Quarter for a 4 night stay at the Saint Ann Marie An­toinette. The trip highlights will include a Mardi Gras gala, a horse-drawn carriage ride, an authentic steamboat cruise, a city tour, and visits to the National WWII Museum, Mardi Gras World, and the Musee Conti Wax Museum. In this excellent bus trip, we’ll stay the first night in Missouri and spend our final night at the Gold Strike Casino & Resort in Tunica, Mississippi. The per person rate is $1,179 for double occupancy and $1,355 for single occupancy. This trip includes 12 meals (6 breakfasts, 1 brunch, and 5 dinners).

 

UW Varsity Band Spring Concert at the Kohl Center: April 17

Hey, Badger fans, join us as we enjoy a true Wisconsin tradition. First, we’ll enjoy dinner at the

Essen Haus. Then we’re off to the concert for an extraordinary show. The cost is $55 per person, which includes concert tickets, dinner, and transportation. We’ll depart at 4:15 pm from the Colonial Club and return at approximately 10:00 pm. Seating is limited, so don’t wait too long to sign up.

 

Holland Tulip Time Festival: May 9—11

The Tulip Time Festival is an annual festival held in Holland, Michigan. It was started by settlers who came to the area from the Netherlands and is currently the largest Tulip Festival in the United States. Our trip will include visits to the Veldheer’s Tulip Farm, the Delftware Factory, Dutch Village, Wind­mill Island, the Little Netherlands Museum, the Dutch Windmill, the Muziekparade, a Wooden Shoe-BoDoo performance, and a guided tour of Holland, Michigan. The cost is $549 for double occupancy and $714 for single occupancy. There is a $25 per person early booking bonus if you sign up before March 10, 2008. The trip includes free home pickup, breakfast with Bucky and 4 meals.

 

Chicago Skyscrapers & Chocolates: May 29

We’re off for an exciting journey as we tour the Chicago River and its architectural landmarks. Profes­sional guides will recount the dramatic story of Chicago’s rise from the Great Fire of 1871. Our next stop will be the Long Grove Confectionery Company’s Chocolate Factory where we’ll experience the old-fashioned way of making chocolate. The cost for the trip is $98 which includes

bus transportation, an architectural cruise, chocolate factory tour, and lunch.
