The use and impact of
prescription and non-prescription medication are growing
concerns
for many mature adults. Numerous questions arise as your list of
medication grows over the years. Fortunately, there is a program that
is designed to answer medication –related
questions and relieve your concerns. Senior MEDS was developed to
enhance the quality of life of adults 55 and
over. This program offers professional medication consultation and
ongoing health education. Senor MEDS has helped many mature adults learn to
properly manage their medication and enhance their health. This
program works collaboratively with local senior centers and other places
senior gather to provide an environment where mature adults can meet
one-on-one with volunteer registered pharmacists to confidentially review
and discuss their medication. Senior MEDS sessions are provided at
no cost. They are pre-planned and provided locally on a regular basis.
These sessions include educational presentations, which provide useful
information on a variety of subjects affecting daily living, as well as
registered pharmacists who are on-site for
individual, confidential consultations. While you wait to see the
pharmacist for your personal review, program sponsors provide live and
videotaped educational programming and educational literature. During your
confidential session, the registered pharmacist will complete a detailed
record of your medications. He/she will answer your questions, explain
potential problems with your medication combination and refer you back to
your physician(s) and /or pharmacist(s) for future coordination and
consultation.
