The purpose of the Advisory Council is to act as a “sounding board” for the members of the Colonial Club Senior Activity Center.

1.      To actively seek ideas and comments from members to better meet the needs of the seniors in service areas.
2.      To meet with the Executive Director and Staff to discuss programs and issues brought before the Advisory Council.
3.      To inform the Board of Directors regarding policies, issues, and member concerns brought before the Advisory Council. 
4.      To inform the members of any decision regarding policies, issues, and members’ concerns brought before the Advisory Council.  The members will inform their groups through word of mouth at committee meetings, notices to be posted on the Club’s bulletin board and/or in the Courier, whichever is appropriate.

 ARTICLE II.  MEMBERS

The membership of the Council is open to all persons who are at least fifty-five years of age.

 The Council membership is made up of representatives from the following:

   Senior Committees (one from each) – voting members

   Adult Day Center
Faith and Friends
Garden Club
Gifts Galore
Trips and Tours
Gad-abouts
Colonial Events
Woodshop
Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups (one)
The Colonial Club Commentator (one)
Evora Lodge (one)
The Boulevard and Acre Apartments (one)
Colonial View apartments (one)
Members-at-large (three–one from the Colonial Club campus)
Three officers
Senior Activity Groups (one from each)
Bingo
Chorus and Chimes
Ceramics
Music and Motion
Festival chairpersons
Colonial House
Bridge
Homemakers Club
Euchre (3 groups)
Canasta
Skat
Cribbage

Members from the above groups are either elected or appointed.

 Term Limits: For members-at-large, three years, staggered.

 The Advisory Council shall include the Executive Director and Director of Programs (non-voting members).

 Vacancies:   Any vacancy of the Advisory Council membership shall be filled by action of the committee where vacancy exists.
